Schiphol East area changed for one day in an aviation theme park
Schiphol, 27 June 2011 – The amazing Highflyers Foundation event, which took place Saturday June 25th at the General Aviation ramp at Schiphol, made the sick and disabled children feel like a pilot for a day. There were a lot of activities arranged that day at Schiphol-East, round flights, rides on various airport equipment and many other activities for the children to assure a fantastic day. The objective of the Highflyers Foundation is let the sick and disabled children fly themselves, accompanied with pilots and medical assistance, all to make them forget their day to day sorrows. In the past three years more than 3,000 children were able to fly along. This year 1,250 children participated in the event.
JetSupport, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary, opened its hangar facilities for this charity event. The staff of the celebrating company joined the event, for the coordination of the platform. The entire day was the initiative of the Highflyers Foundation, along with volunteers from the airport and other businesses.
